| Tad James with Lorraine Flores & Jack Schober | ||
| The Book Says: | ||
| Research shows that many people react differently to different kinds of hypnotic induction - yet many hypnotherapists are confined to using only one technique. This book makes three radically different and significant types of hypnosis easy to use in daily hypnosis work, examining in detail the techniques of Erickson, Estabrooks and Elman. Exploring methods that employ Direct Authoritarian and Indirect Permissive Techniques, Hypnosis progresses beyond these approaches to describe the inductions pioneered by Dave Elman; a technique that planes responsibility for hypnosis on the client.
An invaluable resource for all trainers and therapists, Hypnosis is a comprehensive and lucid manual that incorporates:

| The Book Says: | ||
| "A text of this magnitude offers both the neophyte and the experienced clinician a tremendous, comprehensive. In fact, it will undoubtedly become the practical companion volume and supplement to comprehensive textbooks and courses on hypnosis. It provides the reader with the 'how to' suggestions that therapists use with their patients. Rather than intellectually discussing the topic of hypnosis, the book gives therapists, physicians and dentists a sampling of what experienced clinicians actually say to their patients during hypnotic work. Every student and clinician who uses hypnosis will want to have this invaluable and comprehensive desktop reference." - Harold B. Crasilneck, ph.D. | The Teaching Tales Of Milton H. Erickson - Edited by Sidney Rosen | ||
| The Book Says: | ||
| Milton H. Erickson has been called the most influential hypnotherapist of our time. Part of his therapy was his use of teaching tales, which through shock, surprise, or confusion - with generous use of questions, puns, and playful humour - helped people to see their situations in a new way. In this book Sidney Rosen has collected over one hundred of the tales. Presented verbatim and accompanied by Dr. Rosen's commentary, they are grouped under such headings as Motivating Tales, Reframing, and Capturing the Innocent Eye. | ||
| Trance Maker Says: | ||
| Erickson became famous for using tales and stories when working with clients. In our opinion you cannot call yourself a qualified hypnotherapist until you have an appreciation for the stories he told and the underlying themes within them. Absolutely invaluable. | ||
| George Gafner & Sonja Benson | ||
| The Book Says: | ||
| This useful resource provides over two dozen detailed scripts for inducing trance, deepening, re-alerting, and debriefing. It covers beginning to advanced hypnotic inductions in four main categories: conversational inductions, embedded meaning inductions, confusional inductions, and directive inductions. A separate chapter provides inductions appropriate for use with children.
The book includes numerous clinical vignettes and addresses treatment of depression, anxiety disorders (including PTSD), chronic pain, adjustment disorders, and other problems commonly seen in the office setting. It teaches vital principles and concepts in hypnosis, such as hypnotic language, seeding, amnesia, ideomotor signaling, and Ericksonian utilisation. Rich in metaphor and therapeutic stories, this book includes helpful notes for practice and the creation of individually tailored inductions. Without a good induction, there can be no good hypnotherapy. With this ready-to-use manual, therapists can build their confidence and creativity and ensure good hypnotic experiences for their clients. |
||
| Trance Maker Says: | ||
| Quite a useful book especially for new comers to the field. The inductions are easy to use and certainly can help build confidence and awareness. One point though, if you are new to this field, we recommend that you do not attempt hypnosis with the clinically depressed or those with acute PTSD. Leave that to the professionals until you are more competent. | ||
